Wire Mesh Bridge Panels
Wire mesh bridge panels manufactured by Newark Wire Works Inc. are attractive and unsurpassed in rigidity, quality and good looks. We have manufactured these panels for a number of large scale bridges in the northeast. Our largest project to date is the Williams-burg Bridge which included over 128,000 square feet of Type 304 stainless steel mesh panels on the pedestrian walkway. The Williams-burg Bridge spans from lower Manhattan to Brooklyn, New York.
More recently in 2009, we completed the Roosevelt Island Bridge connecting Queens to Roosevelt Island, New York. The wire mesh bridge panels on this project were constructed with a heavy 2” x 2” x ¼” Type 316L stainless steel angle frame, that has a radius top section.
They are all manufactured in our plant in Edison, New Jersey in galvanized steel, Type 304 or 316L stainless steel. We can provide these panels with square, rectangular, diamond or decorative architectural mesh patterns. The mesh is securely clinched or welded to a four sided frame. These bridge panels can be attached to the super-structure by means of stand – off tabs with a nut and bolt. The stand-off tabs are provided with slotted holes to compensate for the vibration, expansion and contraction of the bridge super-structure. These bridge panels are manufactured in plain steel with a hot dip galvanized finish to an ASTM 123 specification or provided in mill finish Type 304 or 316L stainless steel.
